Creative Director of UX (Mumbai, India)

VEVE is a business unit owned and operated by Affinity. VEVE is a performance marketing platform with its primary focus to connect brands to OEMs and Browsers through unique ad formats. To keep with our fast-paced growth, we are looking to hire experienced individuals who have deep experience in the field of ad tech and connections with Indian brands.

The Director of UX is the guardian of advertising user experience of all Affinity ad products which deliver ads to over 500 Mn users globally (mainly in US, IN, DE, UK, ID). The mission of the job is to ensure that users experience friendly, non-interruptive, useful and smooth ads. To that end, weave the fabric of ‘design thinking’ across teams, by carrying out training sessions, mentor product managers, create user flows, build wireframes, high & low fidelity prototypes and the creation of new concepts. Partner closely with product owners, usability testing leads, and engineers to enhance the overall quality, value, and experience of our products.

The Director of UX is also a ‘numbers nerd’ in addition to being a ‘UX nerd’. All enhanced ad experiences have to be measured for user satisfaction by crunching data. An ever evolving framework needs to be designed and developed to ensure this.

The Director of UX is also expected to drive relevant software adoption and keep up with the latest developments in User Experience.

The Director of UX is also expected to assist current marketing teams with company communication across our owned and operated websites and apps.

Required Skills

  • 7+ years experience in UX across consumer facing digital apps/websites. Experience in advertising and media preferred.
  • Innate gift to simplify
  • Profound capacity to turn complex interactions into intuitive user experiences
  • Possess a deep and recognizable commitment to user empathy
  • Exceptional skills in ideation, sketching, wireframing, user flows, mapping and information architecture 
  • Fluency with design tools, most notably OmniGraffle, XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Invision and/or other UX & prototyping software 
  • Clear and current understanding of the capabilities and limitations of HTML, CSS, JavaScript & developing platforms
  • Data nerd – great skill combing through analytics and behavioural insights to generate new experiments and opportunities to improve our products and differentiate the user experience 
  • Strong portfolio showing breadth of UX Design work 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the UX practice across all ad products, customer facing dashboards, internal admin tools, owned and operated websites and apps
  • Partner with product managers, designers, developers and business teams to deliver ideal user experiences which improve engagement
  • Establish best practices and design thinking process across the organization
  • Deep dive into data to derive insights across channels, countries, languages to deliver the ideal levels of user engagement
  • Drive organizational wide adoption of ‘UX design’
  • Ensure adherence to design best practices and standards
